Lavender essential oil is extracted from the flower of Lavandula Angustifolia. The extraction process is steam distillation: first the flower collected from the plant goes to the steaming tank. When the steam is captured and cooled down, it becomes a two-layer product. The top layer is essential oil and the bottom layer is the hydrosol.
Uses of Lavender Essential Oil
This beautiful purple plant itself is a sight to look, besides that it also has multifunctional usages. From physical to mental, lavender essential oil has great healing power.
1. Diffusion
If you want to promote a relaxing atmosphere, putting lavender essential oil in a diffuser is your best choice. You can use an essential oil diffuser, essential oil burner or diffuser bracelets for diffusion. Diffusion is a great way to disperse fragrant particles into the air, allowing easy inhalation. As soon as you smell the scent and it gets into your system, it gets to work its magic.
2. DIY skincare product
In this summer, you can make a foaming cleanser, use 20 drops lavender oil, 5 teaspoon jojoba carrier oil, and 3.5 oz liquid castle soap. Shake well before use. If you don't want to clean your face frequently, try this recipe: 2 teaspoon water, 1 teaspoon witch hazel, 1 teaspoon honey, 1.5 teaspoon Amazonian white clay and 2 drops lavender essential oil. Add the water when you mix other materials. Apply the mask over your face and neck for 20mins.
3. Massage
Lavender Essential Oil has a calming effect when used in massage oil and aromatherapy. Dilute lavender essential oil with carrier oil in the ration of 3%, you can bring this to the spa or massage at home. It is a perfect way to uplift your spirit, soothe your nerve and add joy to your life.
4. Bath
Lavender essential oil has exceptional anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties. It's good for soothing skin operations and scars. Use the essential oil with a carrier oil, it's good for people with redness and address a variety of skin concerns. On the other way, you can even draw the perfect calming herbal bath using a few drops of lavender oil to soak your stresses away. 5. DIY Pillow Spray
When your linens smelling a little stale, but not ready for a wash? Try to give them a spritz! You can homemade lavender linen spray used to fresh bed sheets, upholstered furniture, etc. It’s not only use safe, none-toxic ingredients but also ones that might offer some calming and therapeutic perks from using pure lavender essential oils.
